I DO sometimes get buyers who pay me with moneyorders. I feel that this will run those buyers off. I've never personally had any problems with people who pay with moneyorders. Personal checks on the other hand... that's another story and lets just say I stopped accepting those years ago (with the exception of paypal's e-checks which while kind of annoying, are ok). But moneyorders too? Ugg. Stupid ebay is sure pissing me off lately. You know... the last bill I got from them for ebay fees was like 15 dollars? Which wouldn't be so bad except that most of my auctions for the few weeks prior never sold so it's like I wasted 15 bucks for nothing. The fees are outright ridiculous compared to what it used to be. For me 15 dollars could buy a lot of things I need. bleh. |

I don't do cats.
Ever.
Ironically, I got cats for all my exchanges this month (one of which I am modding).
(I realize I didn't have to choose your full felid but I like him)
Anyways. This is a small painting on a wad of cardboard. I went to town
with colours, focusing more on keeping the media down than anything. I
forgot his stripes in the end - His badassery was too distracting.

My scanner hates acrylic and its kin. It's vibrant in person. I tried to
even the tones and colours. I be pleased.
Also, bare-knuckle boxing is anything without padding. The wrapping
doesn't count - It's there to keep yer hands together. Not to sound
condescending. Just factoid. |

I'm going to post a link to this post in the sticky post that's at the top of the community with the link to the application page. Not everyone goes through our tags, so if they are artists looking in the joining the community or waiting on a review or what have you, they don't always know about our posts for these sorts of things. Our e-mails are listed on the profile page, and people are always welcomed to e-mail us about things, but sometimes making an LJ comment is just simpler.
This post is for any comments, suggestions, concerns, etc you might have that you feel would improve this community and help make it the best it can be! I try to do this a few times a year, but more often if I notice things in the community are shifting, like how our participation has dropped quite a bit. It might be because people are busy or because so many people have fallen onto our blacklist, but if it's for another reason please tell us so that we may try to fix the problem and have you rejoin us!
So, if there's anything you'd like to say about this community, here is your chance. Crits, praise, concerns, suggestions. Comments of any kind.

| SIGN-UPS FOR SEPTEMBER'S ROUND |

Whaaat? It's the 20th already? Where has time been going? :|
I'd really like to see some more people sing-up this month. We've had a huge drop in our usual participance. From around 70-80 people to a little over 40. I think this is partly because a lot of our regulars are also ending up on the blacklist. Summer was when we had more people join last year because everyone's not as busy with school, so if you've been sitting out for other reasons like concerns within the community, please e-mail me or one of the other mods and talk to us about it so that we can possibly fix this problem! We want this community to be the best it can be and we want everyone to join in and have fun!
Anyway, let's get on with it.
THIS IS THE SIGN-UP LIST FOR SEPTEMBER'S ROUND. IT WILL BE OPEN FROM TODAY THROUGH THE 1ST. THERE IS NO THEME FOR THIS ROUND.
If you haven't been given an answer on your gallery yet in THIS POST--Please bear with us & be patient. Our reviewers have been very busy lately and are a bit slower to respond.
THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE ON THIS LIST STILL NEED TO TURN IN ART FOR AUGUST. You cannot sign up to participate for September if you have not turned in your sketch for August. The same thing applies to those who are on the Official Blacklist.
To those of you who are still Blacklisted: Remember that you are welcome to submit your sketch at any given time. If you do not want to post it yourself for some reason, you can e-mail it to one of the mods and we can pass it on or you can e-mail it yourself and cc us in the message. Please turn in your art as soon as possible if you want to get your name off the list. If I've already spoken to you via e-mail & have given you permission to participate for September, you may feel free to do so.
To everyone else taking part in September's round: You have 10 days remaining to finish your art for your chosen one! Please do not sign up for this round unless you have submitted your art first. Once it's been submitted, you are welcome to sign up.

The burglar is now captive, and Smith is said to have possibly broken up a crime ring that had broken into several homes recently.
